About Giselle
I am based in the southwest of England with my partner Neil, our son Apolaki, and our cats Duke Fluffington and Kaiser von Floof. I’m also a Lecturer in Dramaturgy and Performance Studies at the London College of Music.
Before pursuing my Ph.D, I was a faculty/staff member at both the Fine Arts and English Departments of the Ateneo de Manila University where I developed the first dramaturgy undergraduate course at the university.
I also served as the resident dramaturg and Senior Culture and Arts Officer at the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) where I curated artistic programmes with the Intertextual Division. Here, I inaugurated the production of 'Performatura', the CCP's national performed poetry festival as Deputy Festival Director.
I have worked on the development of over 250 new plays by established and emerging playwrights in New York and Manila with the Lark Play Development Center, Ma-Yi Theater Company and its Writers Lab, the Cultural Center of the Philippines, Virgin Labfest and Writers Bloc. I always find ways to support the development of new work, and forging relationships with and between artists, communities and institutions.
